Eagle Products
Eagle products are consistent hybrids and varieties that will give consistent yields at the high end of the spectrum, without the bottom falling out under adverse conditions—the type of products you can count on to pay the bills year after year.
Ottilie Corn Hybrid Identification
Isolines are hybrids with the same basic parents but with different trait
genes added to make them herbicide or insect resistant or a combination of
both traits.
Following the number designation of Ottilie Hybrids you may find 2 or
more letters that further identify the traits that hybrid has been given. This
is an explanation of the letters:
YGCB = YieldGard Corn Borer (previously Bt) | YGPL = YieldGard Plus (combines corn borer and rootworm protection) |
VT3 = YieldGard® VT Triple™ (combines corn borer and rootworm protection with Roundup Ready®)
|
RR = Roundup Ready
| LL = Liberty Link
| HX1LL = Herculex |

Ottilie Soybean Identification
RR = Roundup Ready | N = Soybean Cyst Nematode resistant |
Alfalfa Identification
RR = Roundup Ready |
Insect Resistance Management
When planting insect resistant crops it is recommended that you plant at least 20% of each field to a nonresistant hybrid of the same maturity. This area acts as a refuge where susceptible insects can breed and multiply. The theory is that this will slow down if not prevent the development of resistant insects.
Growers should refer to Monsanto’s Technology Use Guide for information on crop stewardship regarding the potential movement of pollen to neighboring crops.

Roundup Ready® Alfalfa is for sale and distribution by authorized Seed Companies or their dealers in the United States only. Roundup Ready® Alfalfa seed may not be planted outside of the United States, or for the production of seed or sprouts. Any product produced from a Roundup Ready® Alfalfa crop or seed, including forage, hay and hay products, may only be used, exported to, processed or sold in countries where regulatory approvals have been granted. It is a violation of national and international law to move material containing biotech traits across boundaries into nations where import is not permitted. Roundup WeatherMAX® and Roundup Original MAX® herbicides are approved in all states for use over-the-top with Roundup Ready® Alfalfa for forage and hay production.
IMPORTANT: The following information is current as of 2/26/07: YieldGard Plus, YieldGard Rootworm with Roundup Ready Corn 2 and YieldGard Corn Borer with Roundup Ready Corn 2 are grandfathered for import and use in processed feed in the E.U. YieldGard Plus with Roundup Ready Corn 2, YieldGard VT Rootworm/RR2 and YieldGard VT Triple are neither approved nor grandfathered and there is zero tolerance for these traits in processed feed imported in the E.U. Growers of all products bearing the Market Choices mark must talk to their grain handler to confirm the handler’s buying position for grain from these products. It is a violation of national and international law to move material containing biotech traits across boundaries into nations where import is not permitted.
Always Read and Follow Pesticide Label Directions. Roundup Ready® crops contain genes that confer tolerance to glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup® agricultural herbicides. Roundup® agricultural herbicides will kill crops that are not tolerant to glyphosate. Bullet®, Degree®, Degree Xtra®, Field Master®, Lariat®, and Micro-Tech® are restricted use pesticides and are not registered in all states. The distribution, sale or use of an unregistered pesticide is a violation of federal and/or state law and is strictly prohibited. Grain Channeling (Know Before You Grow)
Today’s complex technologies make the commodity marketing ideas obsolete. When planting any biotech crop, it is a good idea to talk to your grain buyer to be sure you have a market. Then make sure that you take the necessary steps to preserve the identity and prevent co-mingling of traits that could make your crop difficult to market.
